Collaborative Authorship and Postmigration in Jonas Hassen Khemiri’s Novel Montecore

Abstract Montecore. En unik tiger (2006) stages its own making through the joint authorship of Kadir, a friend Abbas’, and Jonas, young writer Abbas’ son. Their collaboration aims at novel about Abbas, who migrated from Tunisia to Sweden, now missing person. The interpretation his life proves be conflicting ground for co-authors because their generational differences. This article proposes an analysis Montecore building upon notion collaborative or multiple (Stillinger 1991; Love 2002), discussion in Scandinavia Germany on contemporary migration postmigration literature. Through metafictional – so far neglected dimension study Jonas Hassen Khemiri depicts author’s ambivalent feelings towards father story. Abbas has vanished family, but special gift Kadir’s mediation, deals with linguistic talent that defies rules Swedish, showing power language invent, imagine different less oppressive order.
